Leaving the shower gives you a shiver in the morning? You won’t have this problem with 24°C in your bathroom. However, a comfortable bathroom temperature is likely an uncomfortable working temperature. The right temperature is essential not only for our well-being but also for our efficiency. Everybody who wants a convenient heating solution and a green conscience at a reasonable cost should think about investing in an intelligent heating control.
Up until now tado° has been using your phone's location to cut your heating bill. Today, your personal heating assistant offers even more. In combination with underfloor heating, you can now intelligently control rooms independently from one another.
The only thing to do is to replace the room thermostats of your underfloor heating with tado° Smart Thermostats to connect it with the respective heating circuits. The mobile app then gives you access to each room which will be displayed as separate zones (Pic. 1) that you can control individually (Pic. 2). By using different modes within the Smart Schedule you can even have different temperatures throughout the day. For example, if the children’s room is only used in the afternoon, a temperature of 18°C for the rest of the day could suffice.
Get your indoor climate right
There is an ideal temperature for every room according to its purpose. Humidity, which is also visible in the tado° app, should be between 40 and 60% for maximum comfort.
The preferred temperature for a cosy feeling on the sofa typically ranges from 20 to 22°C . You can increase it a little in the evening without raising your heating bill.
A temperature of 15 to 18°C supports recovery. Moreover, a low temperature fuels our fat burning engine.
An ideal working temperature is typically between 20 and 22°C. Concentration, stamina and effectiveness suffer when we are too hot or cold.
Try to keep the temperature no warmer than 18°C where food is stored or lying around. Open the window after cooking or baking.
Nobody wants to be cold, when stepping out of the shower. Thus, you can temporarily raise the temperature in your bathroom to 24°C as long as you decrease it again.
Since children are mostly moving when they are playing, a temperature of 20°C is suitable. Whereas toddlers need slightly warmer room temperatures.
If you think underfloor heating is too sluggish to benefit from a smart heating control then you are mistaken. tado° learns both your building’s characteristics and the individual heating periods, and can therefore heat efficiently within the defined time schedules. In addition, it also takes weather forecasts into account in order to take pre-emptive action. If, for example, several hours of sunshine are forecast, tado° will reduce the heating in advance in order to save money and use the natural resources available. This saves energy and better regulates the home temperature.
Those of you who don’t have underfloor heating should fear not. By autumn 2016, we will have released our Smart Radiator Valves which enable you to define and adjust precise temperatures for each room even if you are using radiators that are working with district or central heating. It can also increase comfort when a Smart Thermostat is already being used in combination with an own boiler (gas, oil or heat pump).
