Tado will now not only automatically turn on your heating when you are headed home but also do things like turn on the lights, disable the alarm system, or call the elevator: "This means everything can be ready for when you are heading home - all done seamlessly in the background," explained Tado.
Tado is the best smart thermostat at this as its presence detection simply follows you and your smartphone via GPS, and turns the heating up or down as you get further away or nearer home. Most of us just set the timer and only go back to the boiler to flick it on or off when we get too hot or cold.
Not only does Tado track motion in the home, it also keeps an eye on all owners (those with the Tado app on their phones) outside the home. Consequently it can recognise when you are on your way back and adjust the heating to your ideal temperature as you walk in the door. It works brilliantly, but this so-called ‘comfort level’ can be switched off for those looking to save extra costs.
My energy bills were way too high, but since I’ve been using tado my bills shot down, saving me on average £20 a month. Over the last year we saved £238 with our smart thermostat!
I was a bit sceptical about getting a smart thermostat as I’m not a technical person, but
Tado’s geolocation feature is why I bought it. Now I don’t have to worry about forgetting the heating on or coming back to a cold house as everything is done automatically. It even reacts to the weather to save me more money.
We understand that heating systems and air conditioners are sometimes complicated and not everybody is an expert.
