A new study from tado° has found that Brits used 15% more heating last month than they did in March 2019. With an average outdoor temperature difference of just 1°C, the weather played an insignificant role. The difference is largely down to the big rise in homes being occupied throughout the day due to the coronavirus lockdown.

The official UK lockdown occurred on March 23, compared to on March 9 in Italy and March 14 in Spain. Though there was already an increase in home office working leading up to the lockdowns.
