Users are guided to a healthier home environment by receiving insights and advice on improving indoor air

London, 12.02.19 – tado°, the leader in intelligent home climate management, today introduces meaningful and actionable recommendations on how to improve household air freshness. The Air Comfort Skill within the tado° V3+ app measures the inside air using the temperature and humidity sensors built into the tado° Smart Thermostats. It combines this with algorithms that take into account how often the windows were opened, the presence of people, and the air quality in your local neighbourhood to guide you to a healthier home environment and improved wellbeing – no additional hardware needed.

At times of high pollution, such as rush hour in a busy city, tado° notifies you that the air quality is decreasing in your local neighbourhood and recommends that you close your windows for a period of time. Or for example, when humidity is too high or too low in your home or in a particular room tado° will give you practical tips and advice on how to counter this.

Pollution and air quality at home are increasingly coming into focus as the health effects of bad air are becoming more widely known. According to a recent report by the World Health Organisation (WHO), approximately 91% of the world’s population live in places where air quality exceeds WHO guideline limits.* Good indoor air quality can enhance your wellbeing and health with positive effects on your skin. It can also reduce the chance of catching a cold, while improving the quality of sleep and even your productivity.

The Air Comfort Skill is part of the new tado° V3+ product suite of Smart Thermostats and Smart Radiator Thermostats that save up to 31% on your heating bill. Fully compatible with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and the Google Assistant, tado° seamlessly integrates into and enhances any smart home ecosystem.
