Waking up to a freezing home with no hot water is as bad as it sounds. There could be many reasons why your boiler may not be working as it should.

But before you pick up your phone to call an engineer or installer, you could try to fix your boiler and heating on your own.

If you’ve made sure that the boiler is getting power, the next thing to check out is if your boiler’s water pressure is not too low. To do this, you’ll need to find your boiler’s pressure gauge.

Where can I find the pressure gauge?

Pressure gauge

In most boilers, the pressure gauge can be found on the front of the boiler, inside the drop-down panel on the front or, in rare cases, on the underside of the boiler’s casing.

If your boiler has a digital display, then the pressure may also be shown directly on the display.
