Following the launch of tado° in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in November 2012, we are pleased to announce we have now officially launched in the UK.

All heating systems are created equal? Far from it! In order to be able to connect tado° to almost any boiler in the UK, it was necessary to completely redesign the product from scratch. Technical differences with the national heating system and thermostat interfaces also called for novel installation processes. So we were extremely happy that after some hard work (and late nights!) the newest version of tado° was ready to be distributed to guests at the UK launch event last month, complete with adapted mobile app and bespoke UK connector kit.

For the launch, tado° took over an amazing location in the Startup hub of London, Shoreditch, to introduce the Heating App to a carefully selected group of guests. The event kicked off with an informal press conference with the likes of WIRED, the BBC and the FT in attendance. Christian (CEO), Johannes (CTO) and Leopold (CMO) presented the “best tado° we have ever built”, thanks to four generations worth of tado° development. Once the curious, steadily expanding audience were satisfied that all of their questions had been answered, they engaged in heated (excuse the pun!) debates about the Internet-of-Things, the importance of eco-developments and the London Startup Scene in general.

Thanks to all guests for this warm welcome to the UK. We are currently shipping hundreds of systems to the UK every week. Don’t miss out on the free installation service until December 31st!
