Choose a suitable location for the outdoor unit and attach the bracket if needed.
Outdoor unit
Place the unit in position or mount it on the bracket. The ultra-flat refrigerant hose only requires a small gap in the window.
Indoor unit
Position the indoor unit near a window. Plug it in and enjoy cool air within minutes. Optionally connect tado° Smart AC Control in just two minutes.

Traditional units use a monoblock system, which creates negative pressure indoors. This draws warm air in from outside and requires a window to remain significantly open for the exhaust hose.
Midea PortaSplit technology
PortaSplit brings the technology of fixed split systems into a flexible format. Heat is expelled via a heat exchanger, preventing negative pressure. The ultra-flat hose means your window only needs to be slightly open.

Is PortaSplit compatible with tado° Smart AC Control?
Yes, the Midea PortaSplit is fully compatible with the tado° Smart AC Control. This allows you to conveniently control your device via the app and, for example, automate it using Smart Schedules.
Additional smart automations such as Geofencing and Open-window detection are available with the Auto-Assist subscription (in-app subscription, €3.99 per month or €29.99 per year, cancel any time).
Can I return the Midea PortaSplit?
Should the device arrive damaged or exhibit a technical defect, your warranty naturally applies. In this case, the return or replacement is free of charge for you. Please inspect the goods for visible damage to the packaging immediately upon delivery and, if necessary, have this acknowledged and signed for by the carrier.
Otherwise, a return fee of €99.99 applies to the Midea PortaSplit. Due to its weight and sensitive technology, the unit must be collected by a freight carrier on a pallet. This fee covers a portion of these specialized logistics costs.
