How does the Smart Radiator Thermostat X work?
Smart Radiator Thermostats from the X line replace your existing radiator valves. If you opt for a Starter Kit, you also get a Bridge X, which connects all your tado° X devices to the internet and allows you to control your heating using the tado° app. You only need one Bridge X per home, but you can add more as signal amplifiers.
Are my radiators compatible with tado°?
You can find out whether the tado° Smart Radiator Thermostat X is compatible with your radiators in just a few seconds using our compatibility checker. In general, tado° is compatible with almost all manufacturers. Each pack contains six adapters for a variety of valve types.
Can I install the Smart Radiator Thermostat by myself?
You can install it yourself in just a few minutes. The app guides you step by step, and is customised to your radiator model. There's no risk of water leaks. And even if you're offline, you can still install tado°.
Do I need batteries for the Smart Radiator Thermostat X?
The Smart Radiator Thermostat X is equipped with a rechargeable battery. This means you don't need to replace any batteries. Simply remove the rechargeable battery and charge it with a USB-C cable. This only takes about 2 hours and only needs to be done about once a year.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. We offer a warranty of 10 years on all tado° X devices.
Can I add more Smart Radiator Thermostats to my Starter Kit?
tado° is designed to work with any heating system. This means you can add as many additional Smart Thermostats, Smart Radiator Thermostats or Accessories to your Starter Kit as you like.
I'm buying tado° for the first time. Do I need a Bridge X?
If you already have a Thread border router in your home, you won’t need a Bridge X. If not, you can either order a separate one at the tado° webshop, or buy it as part of a Starter Kit with your Smart Radiator Thermostat X.
Please note that the Internet Bridge from the V3+ series is not compatible with tado° X.
What happens if I'm offline?
You can still install tado° if you’re offline. What’s more, Smart Schedules will continue to run even when you’re not connected to the internet because they are saved locally on the device.
