Munich, April 22, 2026 – tado°, Europe’s leading home energy management company, today announces a new feature that allows customers to control Smart Thermostats across multiple homes from a single account. Starting this summer, tado° users can manage the indoor climate of up to five properties, from primary residences and vacation homes to small offices or shops at no additional cost.
Tailored comfort for every type of home
With the new function, customers can experience the benefits of managing multiple homes more easily in everyday life. For example, they arrive at their holiday home on a cold evening to find it already warm and comfortable. As they enjoy that immediate comfort, tado° has already quietly turned down the heating consumption at their primary residence the moment they left the house.
Additionally customers can install the system in an elderly parent’s home and actively manage their climate settings from miles away, delivering modern comfort without ever requiring the resident to navigate it themselves.
Key Features Include:
- Role Management: With multi-home, residents can view, control and install tado° Smart Thermostats in their homes whilst one Admin has full rights and is in charge of the account.
- Cross-Generation Compatibility: For the first time, users can manage different tado° product lines within the same account - for example, a tado° X installation in one home and a V3+ setup in another and run both generations simultaneously from one mobile device.
- Integrated AC Control: Manage the cooling with tado° Smart AC Control (SACC) in one home while overseeing heating with tado° X in another, all from the same account.
AI Assist & Auto Assist: One subscription for all homes
To coincide with the launch, tado° is expanding the benefits of its premium services. A single AI Assist (for tado° X) or Auto-Assist (for V3+ and older generations) subscription covers every property under a user’s admin account.
For €3.99/month or €29.99/year, subscribers unlock benefits like automated Geofencing, Open Window Detection, Adaptive Heating and more across all their homes simultaneously. Geofencing provides peace of mind as you travel between homes: It automatically cools down your first residence as you depart and pre-conditions your second for a warm welcome, all before you arrive.
While multi-home management will be available for all tado° users, AI Assist/Auto Assist subscribers can be simultaneously signed into all their homes and enjoy a "one-click" instant switch experience, whereas non-subscribers simply sign out and sign in again to switch homes.
